Foundation: DRY SKIN

Who else suffers from dry skin? I've had dry skin my whole life (although my skin has been getting oily lately, I figured this would be a great post for anyone who has ever asked me what foundation I use for dry skin). I used to get random dry patches on my face here and there, and wearing any makeup would accentuate it, no matter how much I would moisturize. It took me awhile to find my absolute favorite foundation. I wouldn't say it is super expensive, but it's definitely not one of the most affordable. Compared to Armani Silk foundation, though, (which I've heard is amazing and will need to try out soon) it is a little more affordable (just a little, ha ha!).

What is this amazing, lightweight, luminous foundation I'm speaking of? It is the NARS Sheer Glow foundation! By now I am sure it is a very well known product, especially for every other beauty guru out there. But I also know there are lots of people who don't know much about many beauty products and need help finding the right ones! I discovered this product on YouTube from a few other beauty gurus a couple years ago, and they said it was amazing, and they were not lying! Now, if you have oily skin, they make a Sheer Matte foundation, too! I've seen reviews on that one also and have heard nothing but wonderful things as well. I may actually be getting that foundation next considering I've been experiencing oily skin lately like I mentioned earlier.

When I first started purchasing this foundation, sometime around last year, it was $41 USD. Now it is $42. Now as I am finally finishing up this draft, the foundation is actually $44!! So crazy, the price just seems to be getting higher and higher. I guess lots of people are purchasing it! Either way, this is a great foundation. It literally feels like I have nothing on my face when I put it on.

I highly recommend going into Sephora or any other store that holds this product, and have your skin matched to your perfect shade. The swatches online can be deceiving. I thought I was the shade Barcelona by the swatches online (even by watching other beauty gurus with a similar skin tone as mine), turns out I am actually the shade Santa Fe! There is definitely a noticeable difference between the two.

If you haven't seen my foundation routine using this foundation already, here is the video! Definitely check it out and go try the product for yourself if you suffer from dry skin and want an amazing lightweight, buildable foundation!

My Go To 5 Minute Makeup

Hi guys! I want to share with you a few of my favorite makeup products that I use when I'm in a hurry and just need to bring my face to life really quick before heading out the door. This is especially handy for moms who don't really have the time to get all fancy for the day but still want to look fresh and awake!

These products are all by the fabulous Stila Cosmetics. First, I am going to show you an example of my makeup that I did within 5 minutes using these three gems. This is the quick look I throw together when I am in a hurry, or am just too lazy to do my makeup! I still do my foundation (sometimes), my brows, highlighting and contouring, things like that, but those things don't take me very long to do at all!

  • Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

I usually don't like liquid eye liners at all, in fact, I absolutely despise them! They are usually so difficult to work with, and so hard to control that it just seems more practical to use a gel liner. This is the first liquid eye liner I've tried that I actually LOVE! As you can see, it is a felt pen-like liner. It is very easy to control, and it really does last all day long. Usually the down side to a gel liner is they don't last as long as liquid. So I am glad I have found something that lasts a bit longer and is actually easy to work with. I recommend this product to just about anyone, if you're good at applying liquid liner with a brush, then you'll be pro at using this. And if you're like me and suck with liquid liner, I guarantee this will change your life! ;)

  • Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (Beso)

First of all, I'd like to stress how AMAZING this product is. I think anyone can pull this lip color off. If you're a red lipstick lover, you have to own this lipstick! It looks just like a lip gloss, and it actually feels like one, too, when applied. It dries to a matte finish (which I really love) as you can see from the photos above. The formula feels very buttery and smooth, very moisturizing. For having a matte finish, it does not dry the lips out whatsoever. And I am prone to dry, cracking lips, especially in the winter season. This product does not bleed or transfer, another huge plus. I wear this product a lot (I think it has even been more popular than my MAC lippies!) and by the end of the day, it is still fresh looking. It does not move! This is definitely a must have.

  • Eye Shadow (Kitten)

This is a beautiful shimmering, nude pink. I often use this shadow as a highlight, it is wonderful. As you can see in the photo below, I applied it to my tear duct area. It is very pigmented, and you don't need much at all to make it appear true to color. Even without a primer, I didn't notice having a problem with it not lasting throughout the day. I'm not saying it will last you all day, because everyone is different and everyone definitely has different skin types. But for me, it lasted all day on my tear ducts without a primer. Although, I'm sure it'd be a different story if I had applied it to my lids without a primer!

Well there you go guys! I don't always add the three dots under my liner with this product, it was just a little something extra I thought would be cute. But you get the gist of this post. Simple, yet beautiful look!

Thanks for checking my blog out and following, if you have been wanting to follow, I'm working on getting the "follow" button up. Be sure to check back later for that. Thanks!

Simple Holiday Look

I know I'm popping in from pretty much nowhere! I've had an eventful last year, but I am back! And I plan on posting my makeup looks and sharing them with you on here, as well as the steps I took to achieve them. I do plan on getting back on YouTube and making tutorials, but I'm working on a setup for filming in my new apartment, as well as lighting. For now, I will just be posting beauty related things on here, and my MUA Instagram account @makeupbyliberty. Be sure to follow me on there also!

Anyway, I created this look for the holidays. I know a lot of people don't like to do makeup that is "too dramatic", so I put together this fun look. (Everybody loves glitter, right?!) It is super simple, yet very festive, and just a pop of gold glitter really gives you that Christmas-y or NYE look!

The Look:
(click photos to enlarge)

The Steps:
  1. Prime the eyelids (I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion, it is my all time fav eye primer)
  2. From the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lavish Palette, sweep "Sienna" into the crease, and blend it out for a softer look
  3. Apply "Cream" from Lavish onto the lid, brow bone, and tear duct
  4. Create a wing with any gel or liquid eyeliner (I used Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (one of my absolute favorite eyeliners! I may do a review)
  5. Using LIT Cosmetics glitter in "Beach Baby" (and their glitter adhesive), outline the wing you created
  6. Apply mascara and falsies if you want (I don't ever really wear false lashes because they are annoying, I need to practice wearing them more often!)
  7. Apply any red lipstick to give this look a pop of color perfect for the holidays (I'm wearing Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Beso", another one of my favs, it goes on so buttery and smooth like a gloss but it dries matte!)
  • Eyebrows: Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse (medium brown)

That's it! Pretty simple, obviously you don't have to use the same exact products, you could still create a festive look using similar ones!

If anyone has any requests, I'm open to anything! Happy holidays!

xx

Certified MUA

Hi friends! Wow, it has been so long since I have posted anything. I just wanted to update you all on my life a bit (and why I've been so M.I.A)! I have been going to school for makeup, and I just finished!! I got 100% on my last assignment, which was an assignment where I got to choose my last look, and I chose to do a mermaid look. I will attach a photo (click to enlarge). Anyway, I just ordered my certificate and I should be getting it in the mail soon! So now I am officially a certified makeup artist! Well, I suppose it will be official when I get my certificate!

For those of you who don't know, and for those of you who have asked, I attended school online at RPM Makeup Academy. They are located in Las Vegas but they also have online courses. I would have chosen to go to school physically, but I had no choice, due to the fact that I live in an area where there are no schools for cosmetology. The courses at RPM are actually very detailed and easy to follow, and they are taught by celebrity makeup artist Rain Andreani. A lot of people are confused as to how you take makeup artistry courses online, and how you do makeup at all if it's online. You actually do makeup on a model (friends or family), take before and after photos, then turn them in as an assignment and wait for them to be graded. Simple.

There are different courses to choose from, and prices vary depending on which one you choose. I chose the one with special FX, the most expensive one, which was $800. It is work at your own pace, which was great for me because I am a full time mom and also had a part time job at the time. Anyway, I feel as if I am just rambling now, so if you'd like to check the site out, you can go to http://makeuponlinetraining.com/ and get more information.

So I know I have not been keeping up with any of my beauty related networks for awhile now, and it has made me feel so bad, trust me. I miss it so much. I've been so busy with taking care of Rylee and working. However, I am not working at the moment due to a stressful work environment. So I am currently looking for another job right now. I am going to try much harder to film YouTube videos, post beauty blogs and reviews, and all that fun stuff. If I don't post much now, I will definitely be posting a lot more in the near future when Danny is in school for web development and I am not constantly nursing Rylee.

The reason I say "constantly" nursing Rylee is because she is 9.5 months old, and she still naps a lot throughout the day, instead of taking a few long naps, she takes many short naps. She hates sleeping. And she won't sleep unless I am nursing her (I know, terrible habit). But I will be done nursing when she is a year old, and she will be sleeping in her own crib soon (she co sleeps obviously). Anyway, I have lots of fun ideas coming soon! As well as some giveaways, which I am super excited about. I love giving back to you guys.

So very soon I will be filming a haul video for the things I will be getting for my kit. I have already purchased a few things, but I have many more to get still! Lots from MAC! I will also be doing some reviews on products soon, and I will try my best to do some makeup tutorials, although I do not have a tripod just yet (still working on that)!

Thank you for sticking by me and being so patient. You guys are amazing and I am truly SO thankful for you. <3 Love you all.

Hi beauties! I wanted to share with you some swatches of lipsticks from NYX! These are the NYX Round Case lipsticks, and there are SO MANY different shades! I only have 10, but I figure I might as well swatch them for you guys, it's better than nothing, right?

I have been obsessed with lipsticks lately, or any lip products for that matter, and when I decided to purchase some lipsticks online, I decided to go with NYX, they are very pigmented and very affordable. Of course I did some research on this product before purchasing, as I always do. The reviews I've watched and read online were so helpful, I've heard others say that the swatches on the website were not accurate, and that they looked totally different in real life! SO true.

Maybe this will help you a bit with deciding (if you want to purchase any lipsticks from this line). The shades I have are Circe, Pure Nude, Strawberry Milk, Indian Pink, Haute Melon, Femme, Miracle, Hero, Snow White, and Hestia.

I have recorded a video of the swatches, as well as a review of the product. I will have legitimate photos of the lipsticks and the swatches posted on this blog very soon!!

My Foundation Routine (For Dry Skin!)

Hi guys!! It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here last. I don't have as many followers on here as I do on my pregnancy blog, but I'm hoping to get there soon!

Quite a few people have asked me to post about my foundation routine, so I finally got around to it! I have extremely dry skin, especially in these cold, winter months. But I can somewhat get rid of the dryness and make my skin appear more dewy and fresh! If you're interested in how I achieve this look, then watch the video below!!

P.S. I will go into greater depth on this blog a little later. :)

I've also gotten tons of requests about my eyebrows! So I will be posting an updated eyebrow tutorial very soon. I've got some other videos I need to post first, but I promise you I will get around to it! Thanks so much to everyone who follows me! I love you guys.
